At Propeller we’re always striving to provide you with the most accurate and useful information to better manage your patients. Changing the way we calculate adherence does just that.
Historically, Propeller calculated adherence based on whether a patient took their preventer medication dose when prescribed. This calculation excluded the number of puffs taken with each dose. The number of puffs is now included in the Propeller adherence calculation. Propeller now calculates adherence based on the number of puffs taken in relation to the dosage prescription entered for this medication in the patient’s Propeller account.
The Preventer Adherence graph will also show multiple medications at one time. If a patient is prescribed multiple preventer medications and each is entered into the patient’s account, an individual graph for each medication will be visible, allowing for greater insight into adherence.
For each preventer medication, adherence will be capped at 100%. If a patient takes more puffs than prescribed, adherence will not exceed 100% in any adherence view (i.e. daily, weekly, monthly).
We continually evaluate our product and strive to improve your experience. Adding the number of puffs to Propeller’s adherence calculation is an effort to enhance our value to you and your patients. If you ever have feedback or ideas, we'd love to hear from you. And please contact us with any questions about the adherence update.
